A couple weeks ago we went to Utah for a funeral for Lance's cousin. While we were there we decided to take the boys to Temple Square and The Hogle Zoo since we probably won't get back that way again for a while. (or until someone else in Lance's family dies :o) . ) So here are some of our pics. from the trip.

Isaac admiring the giant statue of Christ. He wasn't quite sure what to think of it since it was so big but I think he had fun. He really liked all the stars on the walls and ceilings.

Grandma S. took Isaac on a train ride at the zoo so while he was gone we took a pic. of just the two of us. We haven't gotten to do that in a LONG time. :o)

I think the tiger was Isaac's favorite which was a surprise since he's a big fan of elephants they were just a little to scary for him in person I think. He keeps talking about the scary Elephants. Silly Boy!

This is actually take through a thick glass window but you'd never guess huh! Lance is getting pretty dang good with his camera skills! He makes me so proud! :o)

I think Isaac's favorite part of the zoo was this giant ball that he could turn and had water pouring off of it. And I thought the animals would have been pretty exciting for him.

Lance's grandparents live in Elwood/Tremonton and they have a dairy farm. So Isaac got a small tour of it and also got to ride the BIG blue tractor with Great Grandpa Petersen. I think the tractor was the highlight of his trip. Doesn't he just look so tiny next to the tractor wheel!?

Here he is helping Grandpa Petersen drive the tractor. I think maybe he thought it was a Mario Cart car or something he kept getting really close to cars and trees with this mischievous smile.

And here I am petting the baby cows and avoiding it's tongue. I remember what those tongues felt like from when I was little!

Grandpa Petersen and Isaac in the tractor. STILL. This is before he took over the driving.

Grandpa and Grandma Petersen also had this see-saw thing that the boys LOVED. I think Isaac finally figured out that Mark was good for something besides feeding his unwanted food to.

Lance is getting lots of practice of being a Paul-bearer. This was is second with in a year. He's learning though and took the middle this time so he wouldn't have to carry as much weight. He stuck his "big" cousins on the ends instead.

We stayed in Logan while we were in Utah. The house we stayed at is in the historical district and not to far from the temple so we decided to walk up to the temple and show the boys the temple while we waited from Grandma and Grandpa S to come out. They had fun with the water and flowers. I felt kind of funny in my regular clothes hanging out at the temple while everyone else was in their Sunday clothes waiting for weddings and what not to come out. It was like we were the non-members waiting for our family to come out. Kind of weird, but the boys had fun.

I think this is funny because Isaac is the one in the stroller and Mark is the one standing next to it. Isaac likes to pretend he's the baby also.

So that's it. It was a fun trip despite the reason we went over there in the first place. The boys had a blast and are now nice and sunburned and ready for more fun. To bad there's nothing to exciting in Reno.

Your post made Brita think of the song I Love to See the Temple, too. She sang it the whole time I was reading your post. I'm glad you guys had a good trip. Next time you're so close to me you'd better tell me so I can at least catch a glimpse of you for a couple seconds. :)
Thanks for all the pics. It looks like you had a fun visit!
